FAQ

1. What is proprietary trading?

Proprietary trading, also known as “prop trading,” refers to a practice where a company employs its own capital to trade in the markets with the aim of generating profits. Typically, prop trading firms hire experienced proprietary traders or professional traders and allocate funds for trading purposes. These firms often seek out traders who have a proven track record of successful past trading performance. Some prop trading desks do hire novice traders and provide them with training. After extensive practice on simulation trading, successful traders are then given live funds to trade.

2. Who is a proprietary day trader?

A proprietary day trader is an individual who trades stocks, futures, options, currencies, and other financial instruments on major global exchanges with the primary goal of generating a profit. The proprietary day trader operates on the capital provided by the firm and is not involved in any other business development or client relationships, such as phone conversations, sales, or cold calls.

3. What is the remuneration of a proprietary trader.?

Professional day traders who operate under proprietary firms use the company’s capital, eliminating the trader’s capital risk. The firm assumes all the risk and, as a result, does not provide a fixed salary to the trader. Instead, the firm evaluates the trader’s skill by analyzing their past trading records, trading performance, and strategy on a simulator. The company offers a significant portion of the profit (up to 70%) to the traders, subject to the terms and conditions agreed upon by both parties, the trader’s market trade, experience, consistency in profit-making, and the size of the profit earned. In essence, there are no limits to earnings in trading, but achieving success requires learning and practice.

The candidate who wishes to embark on a professional trading career needs to comprehend the demanding and time-consuming nature of the field. Following the submission of the form and two rounds of interviews, the management will identify and select suitable and motivated candidates for the World Trades Academy Trading Floor.

7. How long would the training be at World Trades Academy?

It’s not fixed; everything depends on the skill and experience of the candidates. 10. Why World Trades Academy wants earnest money (refundable) from trainees?

Most of the candidates are not able to differentiate between charm and passion. Due to their qualifications and theoretical knowledge, they are able to impress the interviewer and get selected at the World Trades Academy. However, after joining for a few weeks, due to the tough nature of the process, all charm and passion is lost. The candidates forget about their vision and opportunity, and give up. This is a waste of the company’s precious time and money, who have invested in the candidate from day one with the hope that they will start live trading soon and be profitable for both the company and themselves.

In the first few weeks, negativity and frustration are part of the process. If candidates are bound by something they love, they will be able to continue with their goals and their vision will not be destroyed by the toughness of trading activity or frustration. At World Trades Academy, we hope that candidates will be successful and earn back the refundable money which they have deposited with us, along with their first payout.

11. Can profitable traders in the Indian market join World Trades Academy without a deposit?

Yes, Indian candidates who are already working as traders and trading in any market with a profitable track record of trading, must follow the same procedure as an intern at World Trades Academy. They have to deposit a fixed amount and will receive their deposited amount along with their first payout. If the candidate is truly a profitable trader, they will go live in a very short period (perhaps a few trading days or weeks) and close the month in profit, receiving their deposited money with their first payout.

12. What is the use of a backup fund for trader at World Trades Academy?

When traders join as fresh proprietary traders at the World Trades Academy Floor, the management assigns them a normal buying power of 25K-50K USD and sets a daily trade lock of 30 USD. Until the trader starts making a profit, all the risks are borne by the company. However, once the traders begin to earn profits, they require more buying power and a larger trade lock. Thus, if the traders have a backup plan, the management will increase the buying power and trade lock according to the traders’ strategies and requirements.
